Manor ISD is excited to announce its new course for 9th and 10th grade students for the 2017-18 school year: Automation, Robotics, & Controls. This course will allow MISD students to earn an Associates of Applied Science or a Manufacturing and Production Technician certification while attending high school.
This class is part of a new innovative relationship between Manor ISD and its industry partners Samsung Austin Semiconductor and Applied Materials. These partners will ensure the classroom instruction taught in the course will use the most up-to-date industry standards, helping prepare students for the in-demand jobs offered by these technology leaders. The class could lead to internship and mentorship programs as well as first-in-line interview opportunities after graduation.
A select cohort of 9th and 10th grade students for the 2017-18 school year will be offered this unique opportunity based on enrollment in Algebra II in 9th grade.
An informational session for parents and students will be offered 6:15 p.m.-7:45 p.m. Wed. March 8 in the MHS Cafeteria, during which time a light dinner will be served.
