Congratulations to Carolina Barboza (pictured left), a junior at Manor New Tech High School. She has been selected to represent Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative during the Government-in-Action Youth Tour, which includes a trip to Washington, D.C., and a $1,000 scholarship for their senior year.
The Government-in-Action Youth Tour offers two high schools students the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C., to tour our nation's capital. Students selected to represent Bluebonnet receive an all-expenses-paid trip to visit the U.S. Capitol, meet members of congress and see historical sites from June 12-21, 2019.
As part of the selection process, applicants answer questions about their congressional representatives, the three branches of government, what they would like to see in D.C. and their favorite nonprofit organization. The students selected for the tour are chosen from finalists who deliver an oral presentation and participate in interviews with local leaders.
Congratulations to Carolina from all of us at Manor ISD!
